Benjamin Schachinger schloss seine Studien (Konzertfach, IGP und Kammermusik) auf der mdw Wien mit Auszeichnung ab und wurde dabei von Ernst Ottensamer, Johann Hindler, Christoph Zimper und Gottfried Pokorny (Kammermusik) unterrichtet.

Substitutentätigkeiten im Orchester der Wiener Staatsoper, Volksoper Wien, RSO Wien, Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich, Bruckner Orchester Linz und Bühnenorchester der Wiener Staatsoper.

Zudem ist er Gründungsmitglied des Holzbläserquintetts „qWINDett“, des „Spohr Trios Wien“ und des Quartetts „Foische Wiener Schrammeln“.

Benjamin Schachinger wurde u.a. mit dem „SYLFF Stipendium der Tokyo Foundation“ und dem „Dr. Josef Ratzenböck-Stipendium des Landes OÖ“ ausgezeichnet.

Seit 2019 unterrichtet er an der Franz Schmidt-Musikschule Perchtoldsdorf.
