Christof Zellhofer studierte Trompete in Wien und Malmö.

Seither ist er als freischaffender Musiker in Wien tätig, mit Engagements in allen großen Wiener Symphonie- und Opernorchestern (Orchester der Wiener Staatsoper, Wiener Philharmoniker, Wiener Symphoniker, Orchester der Wiener Volksoper, Tonkünstlerorchester Niederösterreich, ORF – Radiosymphonieorchester).

Er spielte unter dem Taktstock international bekannter Dirigenten wie Riccardo Muti, Franz Welser-Möst, Zubin Metha, Georges Pretre, Seiji Ozawa, Sir Neville Marriner, u.v.a.

Darüber hinaus ist er als Solist und Kammermusiker sowohl für klassische Musik, als auch im Bereich Jazz, Pop und improvisierte Musik zu hören.
